Smart Direct Mail

The best mail in the business. Personal to every roof.

Every home in your territory gets scored. Homes that don't need a roof yet get skipped. The ones that do get a mailer built around their home: their roof's age, their storm, their street.

You approve the list before anything mails. Then it runs on its own.

The short answer

Most roofing mail money is wasted on homes that don't need a roof yet. Smart Direct Mail takes those homes off the list before you pay for them. The homes that stay get a mailer built around their roof, their storm, their street. Already mailing? This supercharges every dollar you spend. Never mailed? This makes it safe to start.

How homes get scored

Every home gets scored before a dollar gets spent.

Roof age, storm history, who owns the home. Put together, they tell you which homes are worth a stamp and which ones should come off the list.

What the score looks at, home by home
What we look atWhat it tells youWhat the score doesWhy it pays
Roof ageIs this roof coming due?Older roofs move up the list. Newer roofs get skipped. You stop paying to mail homes that just got a roof.
Roof typeWhat kind of roof is on the home?Asphalt, tile, and metal homes each get the right mailer. The mailer talks about their roof, not roofs in general.
Storm historyDid a storm hit this street?Storm-hit homes move up, and the mailer names their storm.A mailer about the storm that hit their street gets read, not tossed.
Who owns itIs the person opening the mail the one who decides?Rentals, fresh sales, and wrong names get taken off the list.Every mailer lands with someone who can say yes.
NeighborhoodIs this home a match for the jobs you want more of?The score leans toward the streets and roofs you want on the calendar.Your budget goes to the jobs you actually want.
Mail historyHas this home already been mailed, already sold, or already become your customer?Duplicates, current customers, and do-not-mail homes get skipped. No stamp gets paid for twice.
Why this mail wins

Four reasons this mail makes money.

01

Personal mail gets answered

A mailer about their roof, their storm, their street gets opened and acted on. A generic postcard gets tossed. The postage costs the same either way.

02

Targeted mail stops the waste

Homes that don't need a roof come off the list before you pay for them. Every dollar lands on someone who could actually become a customer.

03

Timed mail builds next year

Roofs due today get mailed today. Roofs due in two or three years get warmed up on schedule. Your pipeline stops depending on the next storm.

04

Every mailer can close on its own

Each mailer links to that homeowner's own page: their roof, their storm, one button to book the inspection. They can say yes at the kitchen table, and the booking lands straight in your calendar.

You approve it, then it runs

See every home and every dollar before anything mails.

Before the first stamp, you get the list. One approval from you, and the whole run happens without you touching it again.

  • Every home on the list, with the reason it made the cut.
  • Every home that got skipped, so your budget stops paying for them.
  • What each home's mailer says: their roof age, their storm, their street.
  • Each homeowner's personal page, ready to take the booking the moment they scan it.
  • What the whole run costs, down to the postage.
  • One approval from you, then it mails on schedule.
  • Every call it brings in gets answered by your Always-On Front Desk.

From territory to ringing phone

Four steps. One approval. Your part takes minutes.

  1. Draw your territory

Tell us where you work and which jobs you want more of. ZIP codes, a map, or your customer file all work.

  2. Every home gets scored

Roof age, storm history, who owns it. Homes that don't need a roof yet get skipped, so the budget stops paying for them.

  3. You approve the list

See every home, what its mailer says, and what the run costs. One yes from you and it mails on schedule.

  4. Your phone rings

Homeowners call already knowing why you matter to them, or book straight from their page. The Always-On Front Desk catches every call, and CRM Intelligence remembers every home for the next run.

Why personal mail wins

Generic postcards get tossed. Personal mail gets opened.

A homeowner ignores "we do roofs." They do not ignore mail about their roof, their storm, their street.

Their roof's age

A mailer that knows how old their roof is reads like it was written for them. Because it was.

Their street's storm

When the mailer names the storm that hit their neighborhood, they already know why you are writing.

Their neighborhood

Mail that speaks to their block makes you the roofer next door, not a stranger with a stamp.

Straight answers

Questions roofers ask about Smart Direct Mail

Do you print and mail everything, or just hand me a list?

Both work. Most owners have us run it end to end: the scoring, the mailers, the printing, the postage, the mailing. If you only want the list, you can take it and run it your way. Print and postage are billed at cost either way.

Can we start with our own address list?

Yes. Bring your customer file, canvassing list, or an old mail list. We score every home on it, add roof age and storm history, take off duplicates and homes that don't match the work you want, and mail the rest.

Can you tell roof type as well as roof age?

In most markets, yes. Where the data is thin we tell you instead of guessing, and the score only uses what we can stand behind. Your mailers stay accurate, so your first phone call starts on the right foot.

Is this the same as EDDM?

No. EDDM mails every door on a route, so you pay for renters, brand-new roofs, and empty houses. Smart Direct Mail picks homes one at a time and skips the ones that don't need a roof yet. Your budget goes to homes that can turn into jobs.

What's on the homeowner's personal page?

Their home, what we can share about their roof's age and storm history, your company, and one button to request the inspection. It's pre-filled, so booking takes under a minute, and the request lands in your calendar and CRM like any other lead.

Do you guarantee a response rate?

No, and be careful with anyone who does. Here is what we do promise: every mailer goes to a home scored worth mailing, and every mailer is personal to that home. That is the kind of mail that gets opened and gets your phone ringing.
